Job Description:

The Senior Accountant provides support in the preparation of the monthly financial statements. The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to monthly close procedures and preparation of accurate and timely reconciliations for multiple entities and analysis of financial information.RESPONSIBILITIESProper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.Monthly bank reconciliationsEnsure the general ledger and sub-ledgers are reconciledOrganize and update financial records.Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts monthlyMeeting processing and reporting deadlines.Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.Ensuring compliance with GAAP.Assisting the Controller as needed.Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularitiesDevelop and maintain large sets of financial data with use of Excel and other tools to summarize the data in order to reconcile accounts.Financial audit preparation and direction interaction with auditors related to specific functions.Assist with special projects and work with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department with monthly reporting and ad hoc financial analysis as neededOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION Bachelors Degree required in Accounting, Finance, Analytics, or Economics3-10 years experience within a corporate enterprise a plusideally 3-5 years of experience in accounting, high degree of attention to detail and accuracyKnowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles (GAAP)Familiarity with the processes, concepts, methods and tools for maintaining accurate and thorough records of financial transactionsKnowledge of economic principlesKnowledge of auditing practices and principlesKnowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulationsProficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn and use job specific computer programsAdvanced Excel skills pivot tables, lookups and handling large amounts of dataWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployees must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following:Hours of operation may vary based on staffing needs, primarily M-F, dayshiftPrimarily sedentary or working at a deskWhile performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
