As our CFO, you will be the financial linchpin of Sweet James, responsible for orchestrating our financial strategy and operations. Your mission will be to build and manage robust financial systems that support our rapid expansion, ensuring the financial stability and growth of our firm. Reporting directly to firm ownership, you will lead a sizable accounting department and play a pivotal role in our executive team. Your expertise will be essential in navigating the complexities of a contingency-based practice across multiple states, driving operational excellence and financial integrity.
What You'll Do:

• Financial Governance and Oversight: Oversee a comprehensive accounts payable and receivable system to ensure the firm's cash flow is managed with precision, ultimately maintaining complete P&L responsibility, assessing consolidation opportunities for cost-saving without compromising quality.
  
• Financial Reporting: Lead the development and implementation of detailed financial reports (weekly, monthly, QTD, and YTD), providing critical data to guide the firm's decisions.
  
• Budget Management: Craft and manage the firm's budget, carefully balancing expenses and revenues to support strategic objectives.
  
• Process Improvement: Spearhead the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and enhance financial controls, setting a high standard for financial operations across the board.
  
• Vendor Contracts and Management: Serve as the primary negotiator for vendor contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and support the firm's financial health.
  
• Team Leadership: Work closely with the executive team and department heads to bolster the firm's profitability and operational efficiency.
  
• Risk Management: Ensure the firm adheres to legal and regulatory standards, minimizing financial risks.
  
• Audit Preparation: Lead preparations for internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are meticulous and compliant.
  
• Cost Control: Identify opportunities to optimize costs without compromising service quality, enhancing the firm's financial performance.
  
• Market Expansion: Research and oversee expansion into new markets

        • Skills: Exceptional financial acumen, strategic insight, and the ability to lead a large, dynamic team. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Intact, Salesforce, or similar platforms is essential.
