Job Description:
Our large services provider based in Irvine is seeking an
Assistant Controller to join their accounting function to assist
with the daily and monthly accounting operations including various
technical facets of their accounting. The Assistant Controller will
report to the Controller. The Assistant Controller will be
responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Serve as the
primary subject matter expert on certain technical matters such as
ASC842 (Lease Accounting) and Software Development Capitalization
Actively participate in the daily accounting operations by focusing
on transactions related to technical accounting issues Supervise
and review the accounting staff’s work product for accuracy and
timeliness Assist in the preparation, scheduling, and execution of
annual audits (financial statement, bank, and internal) and liaise
with the external audit professionals Provide support in other
significant areas such as fixed assets and intangible assets
Participate in ad-hoc accounting projects and identify areas for
process improvements and efficiencies The qualified Assistant
Controller will possess: A bachelor’s degree in accounting,
Finance, or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting
CPA required – Seeking Active status or a commitment to earn active
status (if currently inactive) Blend of public accounting and
private industry experience highly preferred; public accounting
background should include audit/assurance experience from a large
local firm or bigger firm Solid month-end close experience
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal
skills with senior management, and polished presentation skills
Solid Excel skills required including VLookup, Pivot Tables, etc.
Prior experience with Oracle or large ERP preferred The ability to
thrive in a fast-paced environment along with being pro-active,
