Sr. Safety Engineer is responsible for the development of eVTOL
urban air mobility product, providing services solutions, technical
guidance, and direction to the engineering team. This position
applies their expertise in definition and application of processes
and procedures in alignment with SAE ARP4754A and SAE 4761, safety
requirements definition, management & performance measurement
within an agile product development environment. The position works
closely with different engineering fields and liaises with the
Strategy Team to ensure requirements meet our customer and business
needs.What you can do:Provide technical expertise and guidance to
the Engineering team and/or cross-disciplinary research and
development team working on the development & certification of
autonomous, passenger-carrying, eVTOL aircraftManage execution of
work by teams and team members through monitoring progress,
providing technical direction, and problem-solving solutionsMentor
engineers in all aspects of Safety System Engineering
industry-standard methodologies, as well as Company core values, to
promote the development of outstanding Safety Engineering
talentSupport new business initiatives through trade studies,
concept development, proposal responses, and customer
presentationsCoordinate the advancement of the product development
process by providing technical support, developing tools and
methods, and facilitating learning and continuity across
teamsApplies safety engineering principles to support
investigation, analysis, planning, design, development, testing,
evaluation, and implementation of eVTOL systemsReviews and prepares
safety engineering and technical analysis reports, and other
technical writingApplies safety engineering principles to
facilitate functions such as system integration, configuration
management, and testing.May require 10% of domestic or
international travelWhat you can contribute:Bachelor's degree in
Mathematics, Statistics or related fieldA minimum of 5-8 years of
experience in systems aerospace safety and reliability domains and
certification (an equivalent combination of education and
experience may be considered)2 years of experience in risk/hazard
analysis in the aerospace industryExperience working with
regulatory agenciesDemonstrated knowledge of ARP4761 methods, such
as FTA, (P)SSA, FMEA/FEMES, Common Cause AnalysisVery good
understanding of ARP4754A and the associated analysis
methodsExperience with HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing), ESS
(Environmental Stress Screening), HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress
Screening)Critical thinker, adept at relationship building and
leading through influenceProactive delivery of communication and
follow upExcellent organizational skills and attention to
detailMust have the ability to independently prioritize and
accomplish work within time constraintsSelf-motivated and
forward-thinking personalityYou may also be able to
contribute:Master's Degree or Ph. D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or
related fieldExperience with safety aspects of RTCA DO-178B/C and
RTCA DO-254Experience with electric propulsion air or ground
