flying aircraft, we want you on our team. Job Overview : Overair is
seeking an experienced Flight Controls Engineer to take ownership
of guidance, navigation, and control development for our VTOL
aircraft. Qualified candidates will be responsible for development
of controls algorithms and strategies, and vehicle modeling. This
role requires the candidate to thrive in a high paced environment
and be comfortable with the design, development, and test life
cycle of rapid aerospace R&D. This role will include
interfacing with engineering management, certification authorities,
and fellow engineers and analysts, so strong communication and
inter-personal skills are required. Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead Flight Controls Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C)
efforts Design, analyze, and develop Guidance, Navigation and
Control (GNC) algorithms, and analysis techniques Develop and
implement simulation and modeling methodology Develop and establish
SW requirements satisfying certification objectives Review controls
software and simulation results Provide input regarding systems
architecture and redundancy Support ground and flight tests to
design tests to evaluate aircraft control capabilities Mentor other
controls engineers Required Qualifications: 8 years of relevant
aerospace GNC experience MS or PhD degree in Aerospace, Mechanical,
Electrical, Computer Science, or relevant fields Extensive
knowledge of control and estimation theory Strong knowledge of
vehicle dynamics and sensor fusion methodology Experience designing
and implementing control systems for aerospace applications
Experience developing models and simulations using MATLAB,
Simulink, Python, or C++ Familiarity with software and hardware in
the loop simulation and testing (SIL, HIL) Familiarity with
system-identification methods and testing Desired Qualifications:
Experience with certified controls development for fly-by-wire
aircraft (14 CFR Part 25 or related) Experience with generating
aerodynamic databases to support GNC development Familiarity with
RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761 Experience with
creation of system specifications, requirements traceability, and
verification Familiarity with sensors and avionics, electrical
systems and actuation Summary of Benefits: Medical --- Company
