Sr. Safety Engineer is responsible for the development of eVTOL
urban air mobility product, providing services solutions, technical
guidance, and direction to the engineering team. This position
applies their expertise in definition and application of processes
and procedures in alignment with SAE ARP4754A and SAE 4761, safety
requirements definition, management & performance measurement
within an agile product development environment. The position works
closely with different engineering fields and liaises with the
Strategy Team to ensure requirements meet our customer and business
needs.What you can do:
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the Engineering
team and/or cross-disciplinary research and development team
working on the development & certification of autonomous,
passenger-carrying, eVTOL aircraft
- Manage execution of work by teams and team members through
monitoring progress, providing technical direction, and
problem-solving solutions
- Mentor engineers in all aspects of Safety System Engineering
industry-standard methodologies, as well as Company core values, to
promote the development of outstanding Safety Engineering
talent
- Support new business initiatives through trade studies, concept
development, proposal responses, and customer presentations
- Coordinate the advancement of the product development process
by providing technical support, developing tools and methods, and
facilitating learning and continuity across teams
- Applies safety engineering principles to support investigation,
analysis, planning, design, development, testing, evaluation, and
implementation of eVTOL systems
- Reviews and prepares safety engineering and technical analysis
reports, and other technical writing
- Applies safety engineering principles to facilitate functions
such as system integration, configuration management, and
testing.
- May require 10% of domestic or international travelWhat you can
contribute:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related
field
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in systems aerospace
safety and reliability domains and certification (an equivalent
combination of education and experience may be considered)
- 2 years of experience in risk/hazard analysis in the aerospace
industry
- Experience working with regulatory agencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of ARP4761 methods, such as FTA, (P)SSA,
FMEA/FEMES, Common Cause Analysis
- Very good understanding of ARP4754A and the associated analysis
methods
- Experience with HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing), ESS
(Environmental Stress Screening), HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress
Screening)
- Critical thinker, adept at relationship building and leading
through influence
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and
accomplish work within time constraints
- Self-motivated and forward-thinking personalityYou may also be

- Master's Degree or Ph. D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or
related field
- Experience with safety aspects of RTCA DO-178B/C and RTCA
DO-254
- Experience with electric propulsion air or ground vehiclesAny
