Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Divergent is a technology
company that has architected, invented, built, and commercialized
an end-to-end factory system called the Divergent Adaptive
Production System (DAPS) that comprehensively uses machine learning
to optimally engineer, additively manufacture, and flexibly
assemble complex integrated vehicle structures and subsystems.
Products created using DAPS are superior in performance, lower in
cost, rapidly customizable to meet mission and customer-specific
requirements, faster to market, and scalable on demand to high
volume production. Divergent is a qualified Tier 1 supplier to
global automotive OEMs, and Divergent is now expanding to support
mission critical needs in the Aerospace and Defense sector. Join us
to be a part of this transformative journey, where your impact will
shape the future of technology and production. Purpose The Lead
Robotic Technician is a key production role responsible for the
operation, coordination, and continuous improvement of multiple
automated and automated manufacturing cells, including robotic
assembly, anodize automation, scan box inspection, and future
robotic production systems. This technician ensures stable
day-to-day operations across these cells, maintains equipment
health, supports material flow, and drives production efficiency,
quality, and safety on the shop floor. This role requires a highly
capable, hands-on technician who thrives in a fast-paced
environment, excels at troubleshooting automation and mechanical
issues, and can provide leadership across a growing suite of
advanced manufacturing technologies. As a Lead Robotic Technician,
you will serve as a primary technical resource across several
production work centers. You will oversee daily execution,
equipment readiness, part flow, and cross-functional communication
to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality components for
automotive, aerospace, and defense applications. You will support
routine production runs, respond to issues in real time, assist
with documentation, and help train and guide other technicians as
the automation footprint continues to expand. The Role Multi-Cell
Production Operations Operate, monitor, and support daily
production across multiple automated cells—including robotic
assembly, anodize, scan box, and future robotic systems. Ensure
each cell meets production targets for throughput, uptime, and
quality. Maintain accurate flow of parts through automated cells to
prevent bottlenecks. Conduct part preparation activities including
masking, cleaning, light mechanical assembly, and adhesive-ready
prep. Support digital assemblies and validation steps using
appropriate software, tools, or inspection systems. Operate hand
tools, power tools, forklifts, and general shop equipment (e.g.,
band saws, drill presses). Support overall shop operations by
maintaining organized work areas, staging materials, and assisting
other cells as needed. Maintenance and Troubleshooting Perform
routine operational maintenance to prevent downtime. Diagnose and
resolve robotic, mechanical, and electrical issues to minimize
production interruptions. Documentation, Quality & Continuous
Improvement Assist in creating and updating process documentation,
checklists, and training materials. Report nonconformances and
support corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, equipment
reliability, and overall production efficiency. Leadership & Team
Support Act as the lead technician within each of the robotic
cells, coordinating daily workflows. Provide hands-on guidance and
tactical direction to other technicians as needed. Train and mentor
junior team members to ensure consistent performance and adherence
to production standards. Safety and Compliance Follow all
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures and safe work
practices. Participate in required training and contribute to
ongoing safety initiatives. Basic Qualifications Ability to
lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US
export controls. High school diploma or equivalent. 3 years of
experience operating industrial robots (Kuka, ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa).
Strong understanding of industrial robot operation and equipment
troubleshooting. Experience with automotive and/or aerospace
assembly processes and standards. Mechanical and electrical
assembly skills with the ability to diagnose and solve equipment
problems. Strong communication and teamwork skills for coordination
across production and engineering teams. Ability to work
independently and take ownership of production responsibilities.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely climb ladders. Preferred
Qualifications Experience with metallic 3D-printed part
post-processing. Proficiency with KRL or similar industrial robot
programming languages. Experience with automated adhesive
dispensing systems. Hands-on experience with 6-axis industrial
robots (Kuka preferred). Familiarity with PLC-controlled industrial
safety systems and HMI operation. Background in multi-cell or
high-mix automated production environments. Work Environment Work
in close proximity to moving robotic and mechanical equipment.
Requires standing for extended periods and frequent bending or
stooping. Hands-on floor-based production role with exposure to
manufacturing conditions. Occasional overtime, long hours, or
weekend shifts may be required to support production demands.
