For more information, please visit SummaryProvides value-added services through organization and planning related to Wealth Management client needs to ensure timely filing of Fiduciary tax and Information returns and associated payments required.Coordinates with outside tax preparers and Wealth Management team members to ensure proper tax treatment of activities within the trust accounting system and oversees data migration to related systems.Oversees all systems are properly coded from a tax reporting perspective to ensure accurate tax reporting to clients and tax authoritiesManages the wealth planning services provided to clients and prospects, including support for sales and relationship managers for complex tax planningEvaluates industry competitive landscape and sets company strategy and product development related to tax and planning servicesRegularly produces marketing collateral related to upcoming tax law changes and tax planning opportunitiesCoordinate IRA and ERISA tax changes and impact on policy and procedure, including RMD calculationsSupport Fiduciary Business Services in review of business tax returns for client owned business entitiesManages court accounting reporting in the proper format acceptable by the respective court of lawReviews and maintains all tax correspondence related to Fiduciary Trust Tax returns and resolves issues in a timely manner.Participates or leads responses to audits conducted internally or by regulators to provide information and support in a timely manner.Provides leadership on special department projects, including supervising and developing staff and providing status updates to the Senior Management Team as appropriate.Keeps abreast of tax legislation, communicates current tax developments to appropriate departmental personnel and senior management, and implements necessary changes in tax-related procedures.Presents timely and accurate technical information, advice, and assistance to internal departments regarding various tax issues.Executes all other duties as assigned by the President.Delegates tasks, manages workflow, and plans staffing requirements. -Coaches and mentors' staff; provides development opportunities.Ensures that teams and individuals understand roles and responsibilities via clear communication of goals and objectives. -License or CertificationCPA requiredCFP preferredTypical Range of Experience 12+ years progressive management experienceTypical Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Advanced degree preferredKnowledge and Skills/Technology Used Demonstrated competency in executing strategic plans Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of complex projects Experience and knowledge of functional tools and infrastructure Complex understanding of federal and state tax code and tax planning strategiesFirst American invests in its employees' development and well-being, empowers them to provide superior customer service and encourages them to serve the communities where they live and work.
