Sr. Vice President, Acuity Optical The Sr. Vice President of Acuity Optical will be responsible for establishing and executing on the strategic and tactical objectives to ensure the overall growth and financial health of the business. The Vice President will report to the CEO and partner closely with the Executive Team & other Acuity leaders to develop and drive optical strategies across the organization critical for cost-effective operations and long-term success. They will build high-performing teams and will also lead and coach others in the organization to ensure optimal performance. S/he must adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-driven workplace. The Sr. VP Acuity Optical will lead daily operations, revenue, and profit growth for the business of Acuity Optical in both the clinic and retail settings. This senior leader will ensure that each practice and Acuity Optical retail sites will effectively and profitably operate their location(s) in accordance with Acuity's mission, culture, standards, and best practices. The position will be responsible to lead the growth strategy and planning for future Acuity Optical retail businesses. The leader will effectively utilize the resources provided by support departments to ensure that each area achieves their practice objectives and development of productive schedules so doctors can maximize their productivity in an integrated Retina, Ophthalmology, and Optometry practice environment. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: The VPO will demonstrate the following experience and attributes: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration or related degree; minimum 10 years of both progressively responsible and complex business and managerial experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Prior experience in the optical industry. Preferred: Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration. Additional experience in ophthalmology or healthcare management is preferred. Experience: At least 10 years of experience as a VP or Director of Optical; preferably in a comparable complex organization Experience in a senior role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in development and implementation of high sales Optical division. Experience hiring, developing, and coaching teams. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills. POSITION DESCRIPTION Duties and Responsibilities: Design and implement business strategies and plans for the future expansion of Acuity Optical. Establish goals for performance and growth for Acuity Optical. Drive year-over-year revenue and profit growth for each Acuity Optical; meet/exceed NOI budgets. Drive Optical sales in all locations where Optical is located. Work with Marketing to develop marketing materials which focused on marketing techniques for region. Manage staff costs to meet budget costs and ensure efficient productivity and patient flow. Partner with Operations and other department leaders to consistently implement company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices. Oversee the attracting, recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retention of team members and management. Build and develop relationships with employees. Full ability to navigate and produce reports from CareCloud Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Maintains an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policies. Meets deadlines and keeps direct supervisor informed of work progress, timetables, and issues. Knowledge of State, Federal, and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices). Knowledge, Skill, Abilities, and Talent: Growing Revenue and Profit 1. Results driven; aligns and allocates time and energy on key drivers. 2. Understands key metrics, revenue drivers, and ROI expense analytics. 3. Understands Regional market drivers and competition. 4. Oversees the execution of the Marketing Plan by location. Developer of Staff 1. Clearly communicates vision and aligns team members around it 2. Identifies, develops, and promotes potential Leads/Managers/DFOs, and ensures that direct reports similarly develop their employees. 3. Provides continual, direct feedback; coaching vs. directing. 4. Appropriately delegates authority and responsibility and holds associates accountable. 5. Recognizes and celebrates success. Influencer of professionals 1. Ability to develop trusting, mutually respectful relationships with professionals. 2. Tailors coaching style to the individual's needs and appropriate professional boundaries (e.g., clinicians). 3. Builds persuasion and empathy skills (e.g., case acceptance skills). 4. Active listener/observer of behavior. 5. Creates a win/win need for change. Strategic Planner 1. Sets realistic monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives. 2. Measures and communicates monthly results. 3. Prioritizes work and time/schedule to achieve business objectives. 4. Plans ahead (6-12 months) to anticipate and overcome potential obstacles to success. Business Acumen 1. Assesses and deploys resources to meet annual budgets. 2. Builds business and leadership skills of others to take appropriate action to generate positive cash flow. 3. Proficient knowledge of operational processes and best practices.
