We are a prominent and growing Personal Injury Law Firm in Newport Beach, CA. We are seeking a motivated personal injury case manager to join our team! The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

A Personal Injury Case Manager is responsible for overseeing the progress of personal injury cases and ensuring that the clients receive the best possible representation. They work closely with clients, insurance adjusters, medical coordinators, and other legal professionals to coordinate all aspects of the case after sign-up to settlement which includes gathering evidence, medical records, coordinating medical treatment, and preparing settlement demands. A personal injury case manager will have one assistant working alongside them to manage up to 150 files in their pipeline. You will be responsible for properly delegating reasonable tasks and assignments to your assistant while being solely held accountable for your pipeline.--

To be successful in this role, a personal injury case manager should have strong organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a detail-oriented approach to their work. They should also have a solid understanding of personal injury law and legal process, as well as a firm understanding of medical terminology and procedures. In addition, they should be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. A personal injury case manager should be able to work well with their assistant in coordinating tasks and responsibilities to move files timely.

Responsibilities:

Aid attorneys with all aspects of case management, including billing, docketing deadlines, and providing reminders as requested
Perform legal research to obtain documentation regarding health insurance, medical records, social security, and medical providers
Consult with attorneys and provide recommendations with regard to cost and time-effective ways to accomplish the client's goals
Examine legal documents to assure all legal requirements have been met
Manage, update, and organize all case files and information with regard to engagement, whether electronic or paper, in accordance with firm policies

--- Organize and manage case files and documents
--- Request health insurance liens
--- Provide support and guidance to clients throughout the legal process
--- Schedule appointments and coordinate communication between clients, case managers, and attorneys
--- Coordinate and schedule medical appointments and treatments for clients
--- Gather and organize relevant documentation, such as medical records, police reports, and witness statements
--- Handle property damage claims
--- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of case progress, including medical treatment and progress records
--- Verify medical billing balances
--- Perform administrative tasks, such as drafting client letters, requests for evidence, settlement demands, and other documents, as well as managing case files
--- Work with attorneys to develop strategies for pursuing the best possible outcome for clients

Qualifications:

Be a self-starter and able to effectively manage multiple matters at once
Legal research and legal document drafting experience is critical
Computer proficient - specifically with case management software, word processing, and spreadsheet presentation
A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but a 2-year degree and Paralegal certification are acceptable - High school diploma is required
Effective organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, are needed

--- Ability to work independently and handle a high volume of cases
--- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal software
--- Bilingual in Spanish
