Job Description:

Under limited supervision, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Lead will perform pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phase testing of all complexities as defined by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act/Amendment (CLIA). The analysis will include but is not limited to one or more areas of clinical laboratory such as Hematology, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunohematology, Serology, and so forth, to provide data used in the diagnosis and therapeutic management of diseases in accordance with accepted standards and practices. The Clinical Lab Scientist, Lead will also oversee testing of medical laboratory technicians and specimen management by phlebotomists. Inputs data and retrieves reports from computer as necessary. Additionally, may function as bench supervisor in absence of technical supervisor, performing all necessary duties associated with that role as well as creating or reviewing QC and/or QA documentation as needed and delegated.Requirements:Current CA license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist is required.Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, or related is required.Current national certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency preferred.4+ years experience in relevant areas of the lab, including blood bank. At least 3+ years of overall experience in an Acute Healthcare/Hospital experience strongly preferred.Ability to communicate effectively, and follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload, often changing from one task to another on an hourly or daily basis.Capable of demonstrating effective time management skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word and Excel.Intermittent understanding of a LIS system.Benefits:Medical, dental and vision coverage is provided for all full time and part time employees Medical is 100% employer paid including dependents Basic Life and AD&D401k plan with company matchGenerous PTO plan Pet Insurance Discount Program Employee Discount Program per diem staff ineligible
