  • Job Details
  • The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to patients ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex needs.
  • Establishes a helping relationship using a holistic approach.
  • Ensures quality and appropriateness of care for all age groups in the unit-specific patient population including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
  • Performance meets or exceeds expectations with necessary education, training, and relevant experience to perform reliably and professionally.
    • Job Requirements
    • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups.
    • Knowledge of principles of growth and development through the lifespan.
    • Ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret information to identify patient needs according to age.
    • Perform accurate patient assessments per physician instructions and facility policies.
    • Identify changes in patient condition and notify physician appropriately.
    • Ability to identify nursing diagnosis specific to each patient.
    • Knowledge of medical diagnosis and disease manifestations including clinical and laboratory data interpretation.
    • Develop patient care plans unique to each assigned patient including family involvement.
    • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and modify care plans accordingly.
    • Provide direct patient care and carry out physician orders.
    • Assist physicians in treatments, medical examinations, diagnostic tests, and surgical operations as appropriate.
    • Administer prescribed treatments and medications, including narcotics control.
    • Ability to start, prepare, implement, monitor, and discontinue IV fluids as ordered.
    • Evaluate patient responses to care and therapies including lab results, physical assessment, and mental status changes.
    • Participate in unit-specific quality assurance and performance improvement projects.
    • Document nursing care accurately, objectively, legibly, and timely.
    • Ensure physician orders are acknowledged by end of shift and resolve complex order issues with Charge Nurse.
    • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
    • Support effective communication and Just Culture for patient safety.
