Director of Payroll -

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:The Director of Payroll is an essential position supporting the Human Capital function of all payroll procedures for the organization. This role directs all aspects of payroll operations, which includes overseeing company payments, reviewing payroll changes and compiling payroll summaries for senior leadership review.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for development of policies and procedures related to accuracy and efficiency of payroll processing
  
• Supervises, trains, assists and mentors payroll Provides formal and informal feedback to staff.
  
• Maintains payroll information by designing systems; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data.
  
• Reports any issues to senior leadership and provides feedback on improving payroll systems
  
• Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  
• Audits payroll transactions to ensure that accounts, payment dates and taxes are accurate and up to date
  
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising leadership on needed action
  
  EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
    
  • Minimum 5+ years of payroll and people management experience required
    
  • CCP certification preferred
    
  • Knowledge of fundamental payroll concepts
    
  • Familiarity with enterprise HR data systems; ADP Workforce Now knowledge preferred
    
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and administrative skills
    
  • Highly collaborative, with a strong desire to support, enable, and coach others
    
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and tools, including advanced Excel

    • Strong sense of urgency, with demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple activities
      
    • High integrity with proven ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information
