Job DescriptionJOB SCOPE / SUMMARY:
Leverage your deep knowledge of Active Directory and recent
experience configuring Azure services in a medium to large
enterprise (100+ server, 1000+ user). Build, configure, and
maintain complex on-prem and cloud systems in a mixed Windows,
Linux, and UNIX environment. Support a global workforce and
multiple data centers while executing a cloud-first strategy.
Anticipate future-state requirements while maintaining secure best
practices. Responsible for the administration of multiple systems
with emphasis on the Microsoft Windows environment.
- Install, configure, operate, and maintain physical, virtual,
and cloud-based servers; data centers and facilities; storage,
compute, and network devices; applications and services; policies,
permissions, and access.
- Monitor, manage, and report system, device, and data access;
system, service, and application performance; security, data
protection, and disaster recovery.
- Support, troubleshoot, escalate, and analyze root cause of
problems associated with infrastructure systems, services, access,
- Perform ongoing and periodic maintenance of systems, servers,
and devices including version updates, security patches, bug fixes,
performance and capacity upgrades.
- Perform controls and maintain compliance as required by
statute, policy, agreement, or license.
- Evaluate, recommend, test, and procure hardware, software,
utilities, and tools; provide budgetary input and cost analysis;
gather and report usage metrics and other key performance
- Provide after-hours, weekend, and on-call support as needed
using company-issued cellular phone and/or laptop; occasional
domestic or international travel may be required.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Active Directory including
domain controller roles; federation, synchronization, and trusts;
forests, trees, and domains; organizational units and groups.
- Experience configuring Microsoft Azure cloud services including
Azure AD, Azure Backup, and Azure File Sync; and resources
including compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Working knowledge of network concepts and services including
IPV4 addressing and subnetting, routing and switching, DNS, DHCP,
NFS, and SMB; and enterprise storage concepts including SAN, NAS,
- Familiar with backup and recovery methodologies, data
protection and disaster recovery strategies, risk mitigation, and
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and
concisely, solve complex problems, perform accurate analysis, and
determine root cause.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, capable of learning and
applying new technologies in a dynamic environment with minimal
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Education or relevant work experience equivalent to a
bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or
- Recognized industry certification in related area (Microsoft
Certified Expert, Microsoft Certified Associate, MCSE, MCSA) or
equivalent work experience.
