www.missionproduce.com. JOB SUMMARY The Associate Procurement Buyer
plays a critical role within the Mexico Sourcing team, providing
advanced support in coordinating daily purchasing activities with
third-party copackers and partnering with Senior Buyers to
implement sourcing strategies. Leveraging prior experience in
sourcing or supply chain, this position collaborates with buyers to
ensure seamless supply continuity, precise system execution, and
proactive communication across Sales, Inventory, QA, and Planning
departments. The Mexico Sourcing Buyer will actively participate in
fruit purchasing decisions from selected copackers, demonstrate
readiness to autonomously execute buys when required, and deliver
analytical and operational support through sophisticated reporting,
data analysis, and system management. Additionally, this role
contributes to all functional aspects of avocado sourcing,
including facilitating copacker onboarding, audit preparation,
claims processing, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
within sourcing workflows. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute day-to-day avocado purchases from approved copackers,
following established pricing and sourcing guidelines. Support
Senior Buyers in managing sourcing programs, negotiations, and
volume allocations. Maintain frequent communication with Sales,
Inventory, QA, and Planning teams to align supply with demand
requirements. Create, maintain, and distribute sourcing and market
reports that support decision-making and market insight gathering.
Utilize Microsoft Dynamics D365 to enter and manage purchase
orders, pricing, confirmations, and related system transactions.
Update planning tools and reports to reflect current sourcing
activity and supply outlook. Support sourcing-related data
analysis, including pricing trends, volume tracking, and copacker
performance. Assist with claims processing, discrepancy resolution,
and follow-up with copackers as needed. Support onboarding new
copackers, including documentation, system setup, and coordination
with cross-functional teams. Participate in internal and external
audits by gathering data, documentation, and responding to audit
requests. Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing
processes, tools, and reporting. Provide general sourcing support
as needed to ensure uninterrupted execution of Mexico Sourcing
operations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree
in business, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or a related field
preferred. Prior experience in the produce or fresh food industry
required; avocado industry experience strongly preferred.
Experience in procurement, sourcing, or buying roles preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written). Strong
proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics
D365. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
and produce actionable insights. Excellent communication and
organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a
fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. Collaborative mindset with
a strong attention to detail and follow-through. Salary Range:
