The Vice President Consumer Lending has strategic and managerial
responsibility for the consumer lending and card services divisions
of the Credit Union, and is responsible for developing and
implementing effective plans that drive Member value and growth
that is ethical, purposeful and sustainable.
Working closely with the CLO, senior management, and functional
leaders across the credit union, retains full responsibility for
planning, directing, and organizing the strategic and operational
activities of the consumer lending and cards programs. Oversees the
underwriting and credit risk performance of credit cards. Partners
with the Assistant Vice President of Card Services to drive the
growth and value of the cards and payments program.
Responsible for annual/long term planning and execution of
strategies, tactical plans, associate development, and annual
operating plans for consumer lending and card services areas of the
Regularly analyzes and develops innovative consumer lending
products, services, and loan delivery methods (e.g., branch, call
center, digital, etc.) to ensure that the credit union is meeting
members' needs and lending goals.
Regularly analyzes loan rates and pricing for competitiveness
and profitability, and makes recommendations for changes as
Analyzes, prepares and presents various reports, graphs & charts
that measure the progress and attainment of lending goals.
Provides credit counseling to members as needed or
Selects, hires, develops and coaches direct reports to achieve
credit union goals and maximum member service. Promotes and
supports cross training of associates.
Evaluates work performance of direct reports through timely and
regularly scheduled reviews; determines promotions, salary
increases and corrective actions; and effectively handles other
associate related issues.
Prepares and manages Annual Operating Plan and controls expenses
Experience/ Training/ Education:
College degree or advance degree in Business Administration,
Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field
Five or more years of experience lending in a financial
institution. Experience with credit card lending, risk-rated
lending, loan participation and loan packaging are strongly
preferred; a thorough knowledge of modern office practices and
