Job Summary We’re looking for an experienced Director of Applications and BI Development to join our Information Security group. This Director will lead high-impact, high-velocity initiatives to bring Information Security capabilities through APIs and reporting to our stakeholders .

This role collaborates with next-level software engineering and Information Security stakeholders to ensure the collective team makes the best technical, product and people decisions.

In this role, you will:

Influence senior level management and key stakeholders with a capacity to communicate abstract concepts to diverse audiences.

Proven technical experience in developing and implementing application strategies across a large, complex organization.

Hands on technical management experience with the information security suite of in house developed software and reporting solutions.

Ability to provide thought leadership and strategic direction for application development and reporting teams.

Guide engineering and partner teams in Agile, troubleshoot adoption efforts, and guide continuous learning.

Ability to think strategically and act tactically; manage multiple activities simultaneously with minimal direction while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strengths in negotiations and interpersonal relationships.

Ability to forge effective working relationships with internal cross-functional teams.

Promote a design lad approach ensuring that practices are driving the best experiences and solutions for our customers.

Drive elimination of inefficiencies in coding process, while ensuring a quality and security first mentality across engineering teams.

Ensures software and reporting product portfolio meets and surpasses all regulatory, compliance, security, and privacy policy requirements.

Promote contemporary cutting-edge software architectures leveraging best-in-class software tooling, SDKs, etc.

Ability to attract, mentor/coach, and retain dynamic team of high-performing individuals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

Experience bringing software products to retail/market

Strong verifiable knowledge of IT application development/enterprise systems, integration architecture including cloud and microservices, and business analytics leadership.

10+ years managing large teams in an Agile software development environment with cross-functional stakeholders, partners and vendors; Experience managing offshore teams

Understanding of Secure DevOps and best practices for cloud architecture.

Familiar with infrastructure deployment methodologies and industry best practices

Essential Functions

Authorize projects, approves project designs and cost estimates. Reports projects’ status and critical issues to IT senior management.

Set objectives and priorities and ensures the effective allocation and use of departments’ resources.

Develop and administer departments’ budgets with input from work group managers.

Lead planning and strategy development for multiple departments and is a key participant in strategic planning for the Information Security development/reporting function. Translate strategic goals and priorities into technical strategies and objectives for his/her departments.

Introduce best practices and ensures the timeliness and quality of his/her departments’ delivery of products and services.

Coordinate activities and efforts among different organizational groups, customers and vendors.

Prepare and maintains job descriptions for positions that report to him/her.

Write and conduct performance reviews, provides ongoing performance feedback. Establish salary budget and approves salary increases. Make hiring decisions.

Frequently interfaces with executives inside and outside the company to make operational and project-related decisions, to resolve critical issues, to gather industry and competitive information and to foster a productive professional network.

Job Complexities

Work on a diverse range of multi-work unit critical and complex problems of significant scope, where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, an in-depth understanding of current business and technological trends, organizational objectives and political dynamics.

Exercise judgment as a seasoned professional and manager with a full understanding of industry best practices and efficiency and metrics.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at the senior management level across functional groups, business units, and vendor organizations. Ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, using influence and preventing damage to the relationship.

Strategic Management: Ability to communicate function vision and establish aligned direction and goals for his/her department. Obtains and effectively allocates resources. Creates systems to measure results. Has in-depth understanding of competitor,

financial and industry dynamics.

Ethics: Deals with others in an honest manner, assures adherence to company policies, and addresses questionable business practices.

Customer Focus: Drives and models customer loyalty, manages customer expectations, uses customer feedback to establish department goals, and ensures commitments are met.

Communication: Provides others with reliable information, delivers informative and persuasive presentations. Uses good listening skills and negotiates effectively.
