Description:The Design checker will check existing design drawing packages with BlueBeam emphasis on safety, accuracy, quality, cost effectiveness, CAD standards and customer specific requirements for redline. Key responsibilities include: Check prepared drawings, citing inconsistencies and errors. Check and/or create bill of materials. Create and review Redlines. Enforce company drafting standards. Check CAD drawings and models to ensure good practices are followed and company standards are followed. Adherence and proper application of various standards related to tolerance, dimensioning, scale, 3rd angle projection, notes, associated lists and revision level. . Knowledge of AWS welding symbols and proper application. Excellent PC skills, including familiarity with Windows environment, must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Performs other duties as required. The work may include front end design, substructure research, detail design, quality assurance review, construction support and startup involvement, as-built drawings and close-out activities. Ensure and maintain compliance with applicable company and client standards and procedures. Review vendor design to ensure compliance with project technical requirements. Participate in squad checks and quality control reviews to ensure accurate, high quality deliverables. Contribute to the development and implementation of department and company goals. Identify and implement improvements in processes and operations to control costs and improve productivity. Participate in special projects or tasks as required.Skills:autocad, civil 3d, plant 3d, bluebeam, utility design, bill of material, redliningAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Two (2) years drafting and design experience with mechanical packaging, plan and profile, sections/details. One (1) year of recent experience with and AutoCAD. Good problem-solving, decision-making, communication, analytical and human relations skills required Must have advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Plant 3D skills and good knowledge of drafting techniques and technologies.
