In addition to performance-based merit increases, this position
is scheduled to receive salary range increases on the following
Effective July 2, 2021 - 2.5% increase
Effective July 1, 2022 - 3.5% increase
Mandatory Employee Retirement Contributions will decrease on the

The Staff Nurse makes independent nursing judgments while

within established nursing procedures for the assigned clinic.
Family Health Clinics
This position supports service delivery through administration
of immunizations and providing medical care to Orange County
residents. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Taking vital signs and obtaining complete patient history
including present illness, past medical history, and family and

specific diseases, health conditions, health maintenance and

Communicable Disease Control
The current position provides surveillance, investigation, and
reporting for enteric diseases. Duties include but are not limited
- Coordinating with Epidemiologists to address foodborne
- Assessing the need for and conducting specimen collection and
analysis when patients work in sensitive occupations or otherwise
- Tracking patient status, reporting to the Medical Director and
Supervising Public Health Nurse, and conducting follow up
activities as directed

STD/HIV Clinic (17th Street Testing, Treatment and Care)
This position provides direct nursing services to patients
seeking care in the clinic. The Staff Nurse is part of the clinic's
interdisciplinary team. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Performing triage and nursing assessments
- Administering medications as ordered by physicians
- Providing venipuncture and laboratory testing, and providing
- Performing patient specimen collection and obtaining vital
- Providing patient care as well as assistance to STD/HIV

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING
Independent body mobility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, sit for
prolonged time and to drive a vehicle; strength to lift and carry
up to 25 pounds; manual dexterity to reach, grasp, manipulate small
objects and precision instruments to give injections, take pulse
and blood pressure; manual dexterity to hand write or use computer

calibrated measuring instruments, labels on medications, computer

Will be required to work in clinic environment; wear protective

patients who have a communicable disease. For Nurse-Family
Partnership, work occurs primarily in the client's home. A high
stress level is inherent in this position due to the nature and
complexity of poverty and other psychosocial factors that impact
the families served. Employees may have exposure to hazards in the
field (driving, unfamiliar neighborhoods, inclement weather and
clients). May be assigned to evenings, weekends and/or
