Job Description:

This position is responsible for all procurement activities and requires a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Checks inventory levels and coordinates activities involved with procurement of parts and services such as raw materials, OEM products, special order parts, and parts for new product introductions
Reviews requisitions, clarifies unclear items and ensures proper signature authority
Negotiate price and delivery with vendors, enter and schedule purchase orders accordingly
Monitor, expedite, reschedule, or cancel orders as required
Reviews and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
Maintains manual and computerized procurement records
Manage suppliers to control deliveries and inventory levels
Discuss defective or unacceptable goods and services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
May approve invoices for payment and expedited delivery of goods
Resolves shipments in error with suppliers and coordinates with accounts payable for solving inconsistencies on procurements
Updates Production on missed ship dates for flagged items
Ensure customer demands/commits are met with production processes and planning
Evaluates suppliers and perform supplier audits
Performs supplier selection activities
Keeps abreast of changes in the market that may affect the availability or price of parts

Requirements

NON-NEGOTIABLES:
Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing and/or planning experience in electronic manufacturing
1+ years RFID/Transponders industry experience

LANGUAGE ABILITY :
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, organizational skills, negotiation, and mathematical skills
Able to work closely with other employees to engage in "team buying".
Work effectively with other employees so as to seek additional interaction that improves the quality of buying

REASONING ABILITY:
Must be able to work in a schedule-driven environment. Timing is a critical function
Able to work independently, adapt well to change, and be detail-oriented
Ability to analyze technical data
Good planning and decision making skills

REQUIRED/DESIRED COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
Knowledge of supply-chain management; ERP/MRP systems

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
APICS certification (CSCP, CPIM) desired

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Some domestic and/or international travel may be required
This position is a full-time position
