At FBM we believe in doing business with integrity and being the Company of Choice for both our customers and our team.Come build your career with an exciting and growing organization within the building products industry!Essential Accounts Payable Specialist Functions/Qualifications/Education:Heavy volume data entryExperience dealing with difficult accountsReconcile Vendor Statements, research and correct discrepanciesCode and enter invoices and payments into the accounting systemPrepare and process AP checks and prepares AP mailingMaintain basic knowledge of GL chart of accountsMaintain AP reports, files, vendor list, reconcile monthly vendor statements. Set up new vendors including payment termsCommunicate with vendors and resolve open issues, disputes, and inquiriesWork with corporate and field operations groups for AP documentation and approvalAssists in monthly closings and ensure all invoices are entered by the closing deadlineDate stamp all incoming mail on a daily basis to ensure timelinessPrepare weekly disbursement lists in excel spreadsheetCode credit card transactions with GL and jobs in excel spreadsheet, gather credit cards receipts, upload credit card detail to the accounting systemPrepare annual 1099 tax formsSupport accounting personnelPerforms other accounting duties as assignedAssociates Degree in Accounting or Business- related field2+ years Accounts Payable / Accounting-related fieldKnowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer)Basic knowledge and understanding of accounting principles/practicesExperience with accounting software a plusAbility to multi-task in in a fast paced environmentOrganized - prioritizes work activities and time efficientlyDetail oriented - demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness to ensure work qualityStrong initiative and ability to problem solveDependable - consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performanceFlexible schedule during monthly financial closesDetail-oriented with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, or as a team member.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing to all levels within the organization.Ability to work under pressure and with multiple deadlines.Support our company values in the stated areas of Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Integrity and being a Company of Choice for both employees and customers.Other duties may be assignedFBM Benefits:A principled approach to work, including honesty and integrityA friendly and supportive work environmentCompetitive pay an incentivesExcellent benefits including: Medical, Dental and Vision plans, 401(k)And so much more!About Foundation Building MaterialsFoundation Building Materials (FBM) is a leading North American distributor of building materials focused on meeting and exceeding the needs of local construction trades with best-in-class products and services.
