INFRASTRUCTURE PRACTICE

Michael Baker International's Infrastructure Practice provides innovative consulting, planning and engineering solutions for Transportation (including roadway, rail, transportation planning, traffic control, signing, pavement marking, hydraulic design), Bridges & Structures (including bridge design, construction specifications and support, preservation challenges, complex structural analysis, and geometric bridge layouts), Land Development (Municipal Infrastructure, Commercial and Residential Land Development Projects, understanding City and County Land Development Codes and technical manuals for transportation, water, sewer, and storm water, and preparing site plans, grading plans, water/sewer utility plans, profiles, and cross Sections), and Construction Services (construction management, inspection, constructability reviewers, schedule analysis, estimating and safety review and oversight). We have proven experience in providing a full range of professional services from scientific and technical analysis, concept through design, and construction support services. Our typical clients include public agencies (local municipalities, state and federal agencies), and private developers.

DESCRIPTION

Our Infrastructure Practice Executive will help grow our Highway/Bridge, Civil Engineering, and Construction Services Practices in Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties, including offices in Los Angeles, Long Beach and Santa Ana. This role includes the development and implementation of a business strategy and management of key strategic projects to expand the practice and opportunities for staff.

Our Infrastructure Practice Executive will lead and support marketing efforts, business development, client engagement, staff development, project implementation, fiscal management of the business, and participation in professional organizations. The successful candidate will also lead and mentor professional technical staff and will communicate and coordinate with our offices in the West Region and across the organization.

You will be accountable for performance against metrics including:

• Revenue and Profitability
• New Work Added and Backlog
• Headcount Growth (Recruiting & Staff Development)
• Work share with other offices
• Development of Balanced Office Portfolio reflective of Michael Baker International's enterprise capabilities
• Client engagement and relationship building/maintenance
• Identifying and developing emerging talent and leadership to create upward opportunity and succession planning.
• Involvement in local professional activities that bring positive attention to the firm
  PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering related discipline
  • 20+ years in Engineering or Project Management with 10+ years supervising engineering personnel
  • 10+ years of extensive experience in either Transportation, Bridges, Structures, or Land Development
  • Current PE or SE license in California
  • Have excellent communication and writing skills
  • Have the knowledge of and relationships with local and regional agencies
  • Demonstrated success in the management and delivery of projects and programs
  • Experience providing direct support to project managers and in supervising and mentoring staff
  • Experience in the preparation of business / strategic plans
  • Ability to manage financial aspects of the business
  • Ability to interact successfully with State and Federal Agencies
  • Computer Skills: MS Office Suite
    COMPENSATION
    The salary range for this position is $171,000 - $283,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
