Job Description:

Summit Santa Ana currently has an open position for an Assembly Technician (1st shift). Summit Interconnect is a manufacturer of advanced technology printed circuit boards with a specific focus on complex rigid and rigid-flex product with unique expertise in RF/Microwave applications.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in the printed circuit board industry and must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Responsibilities:

• Setup and operation of surface mount pick and place machines, including tending to machines by quickly and efficiently loading or replenishing feeders with reels of components, entering programs into automated placement machinery, setting up support fixtures, and prepping assembly lines for next shop order.
• Setup and operation of semi-automatic stencil printers.
• Setup and operation of reflow oven.
• Perform manual component placement and inspection.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Perform detailed quality inspection of populated circuit boards.
• Troubleshooting component placement and machine issues.
• Must maintain a neat work area.
• Progress towards being responsible for quality, quantity and inspection of work performed.
• Other duties may be assigned as required. Requirements:
  • Ability to read and write in English to work from BOM's, Visual Aids, assembly drawings, work instructions and complete a wide variety of production and Quality Control logs.
  • Must be able to use a microscope to verify component placement, orientation, and fine pitch repairs.
  • Must be able to understand, interpret and resolve error messages from varied machines.
  • Must have a general knowledge of manufacturing processes, electronics, and be able to read and interpret assembly prints, follow visual aids and written area work instructions.
  • Able to communicate effectively and relate to co-workers.
    Compensation/Benefits: Summit offers a variety of health and benefit programs. Which include Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA plans, Hospital and Accident plans, Life Insurance, PTO, and Paid Holidays. Benefits are effective 1st day of the month following date of hire.
    
    Pay Range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00 hour based on experience.
