Job Description:
Peregrine Team is hiring for IR Technicians in Santa Ana, CA.
This is a per diem/registry position.Job Duties: -
- The Radiologic Technologist demonstrates critical thinking and
performance ability in the coordination of patient care.
- The Radiologic Technologist may handle human blood and other
potentially infectious and/or hazardous materials, which may result
in possible exposure to blood borne pathogens and/or harmful
elements.
- The Radiologic Technologist has the responsibility for the
assessment, treatment, and care of the patients assigned in the
following age groups: infant, pediatric, adolescent and
geriatric.
- Patient care employees must be able to demonstrate the
knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to
patients of all age groups-must demonstrate knowledge of the
principles of growth and development through the life span, possess
the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, and
interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each
patient's needs in relation to age and to provide the care needed
as described in the department's policies and procedures. Maintain
repeat rate between 5 and 10%.
- Follows all radiation protection guidelines, as listed in title
17, California Radiation Control Regulations. -
- Comply with film badge policy 100% of the time. -
- Shield patients per protocols 100% of the time. -
- Record female patients LMP 100% of the time. -
- Follow proper storage and up keep of lead aprons and gloves 95%
of the time. -
- Follow appropriate protection protocols for other employees
and/ or family members in Radiology area. Cleans exam room after
each patient and changes the pillowcase after each patient use.

- Ensures supplies are available for each exam. -
- Follows proper technique if procedure is sterile procedure of
fluoroscopy, etc. -
- Assist Radiologist when requested using proper procedures.
- Reports all malfunctions of equipment to the Bio-Medical
Engineer following Hospital policy -
- Completes appropriate paperwork, if required. -
- Follow directions of appropriate person in repair or use of
equipment. -
- Ensures exam rooms are stocked on a daily basis. -
- Reports needed supplies to person responsible for ordering.
Within 15 minutes of exam, ensures that the patient information is
legible and accurate on all paperwork. -
- Continuously follows National Patient Safety Goals specific to
position.
- Ensures jacket has appropriate insert. -
- Compare jackets as needed. -
- Reports all problems with paperwork to appropriate person.
- Attends in-service workshops as requested by supervisor. -
- Attends outside education seminars to remain current in field.
Number of classes attended will exceed one to excel in this
category. -
- Within two weeks of seminar submit a one-page written report on
content or present a five-minute synopsis at a staff meeting.
Assist in other areas of the department as needed. -
- Knowledgeable of operations in all areas of department. -
- Suggest areas that need attention and offers assistance.
- Follows hospital attendance and punctuality policy.
- Follows hospital timekeeping policy; uses Kronos appropriately,
documents on Kronos oops form timely and accurately; does not have
excessive missed punches and seeks approval for overtime -
- Follows meal and rest period policy and seeks prior approval
when indicatedQualifications: -
- Current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - Required
- Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist Certificate (Fluoro
License) - Required
- Current BCLS (within 30 days of employment) - Required
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
